TheTool Group of Canada is a non profit organization of people whose passion is collecting and studying and learning how to use antique and traditional tools. Our members collect a wide variety of tools including trade tools like woodworking, blacksmith, electrical, carpentry, our members have a large variety of interests.
We have members right across Canada and the U.S.A.
Our members have aided historical sites and museums in identifying tools and we can help you too!
It is with a feeling of deep sorrow and tremendous loss that that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Jim Ross. Jim was a giant in the Tool Group of Canada, as he was a founding member, tremendous supporter and was one of the most knowledgeable and caring men our group has ever had. Jim’s knowledge constantly astounded the Members as to how broad and deep it was. It was going to be a fantastic meeting indeed if Jim was going to be presenting, whether the topic was cleaning up old tools, discussing cast iron or even setting up an 1800’s kitchen, the range of his knowledge was staggering.
What will probably be remembered by most was Jim’s constant smile and friendly manner. You always had Jim’s undivided attention and there was no better teacher.
We can just imagine that perhaps Jim is currently sitting under a tree and discussing tools with a small group, either imparting his knowledge or learning.
