The Tool Group of Canada is a group of people who are interested in collecting and studying antique tools. Our members, both male and female, collect a wide variety of tools including wood planes, blacksmith, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, auto, kitchen tools ... and corkscrews!. We have members across Canada and the U.S.A.

SATURDAY JUNE 9, 2012 TO ST. JACOBS, ONTARIO

Plan to attend our annual Tool Group’s June Outing!

Discover shops, food, antiques, and TOOLS!

You will have the opportunity to visit:

• the Home Hardware Museum, featuring a basement

full of tools

• Miniature Model Railway Museum
• Hamel Brooms – corn brooms made in the old ways
• Maple Syrup Museum
• Quilt Gallery
• The Mennonite Story (history of the Mennonites)
• Shops selling pottery, weaving, hand blown glass

Wander through the village streets and stop at stores

or galleries.

To extend your day, visit the Farmers’ Market, Outlet Stores,

Antique Stores, Theatre, or other attractions.

Meet at 9:30 a.m. at St Jacobs Mennonite Church,

1310 King St. North, St Jacobs, N0B 2N0.

Coffee, tea and muffins will be served.

Entrance to the church is from the parking lot

(at the rear of the church).

Once we meet, we will divide up and tour the attractions.

Lunch at 12:00 at the church.

At lunch, we plan to have the founder of Home Hardware,

Walter Hatchburn, in attendance.

After lunch we will feature a “mystery bag auction”,

raffle draw, and “No Tool Fools” game.

Two antique tractors will be on display in the parking lot.

Cost is $25 per person. (Children 12 and under are FREE).

This includes your lunch and a donation to

4 attractions on your behalf.

We meet rain or shine.

Please send your monies and register by June 1st.

Directions from the 401:

Exit #278 Highway 8 Kitchener;

follow Highway 8 to Highway 85 N Waterloo

(ramps to the right).

Follow Highway 85 North.

Exit at Road 15 for Market District.

Turn left at end of exit ramp onto King Street

North (Road 15).

Travel over bridge and turn left onto Farmers

Market Road into Market District.

To reach the village from Hwy 85 N, continue

past Road 15 exit, to traffic circle. (4.5 km).

Merge into traffic circle and follow around to

St. Jacobs / Sawmill Road West (Road 17),

then turn left at next intersection, on to King Street

North into village.

Meet at St Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King St. North,

St Jacobs, N0B 2NO.

Tools of the Trades Show:

FALL 2012 Show: Sunday Sept. 30 2012

Antique tools galore! 30+ vendors show and sell their tools, all kinds of tools ... and are quite willing to share their expertise on tools if you have questions. There are "user" tools that are modestly priced (wood planes, chisels, saws, hammers,etc.). Many rare tools are offered as well for the more "advanced" collector. If you are looking for something different, there are eclectic items as well: you may see metal-working machines, measuring instruments, custom-made planes, etc. Additionally, parts, such as plane blades, are available to complete tools you may have.
